Course Overview

This course is designed to give an understanding of the benefits of membrane use in wastewater.

The course will give participants an understanding on how to:

  • Describe the membrane bioreactor (MBR) in the wastewater treatment process
  • Describe the membranes used in wastewater treatment (hollow fiber and flat sheet membranes) 
  • Describe the advantages and limitations of MBR systems
  • Explain the biological nutrient process
  • Understand the strategies to correct MBR problems
