Course Overview

Students will learn an introduction to the following: 

  • wastewater collection; 
  • legislation; 
  • SDWA; 
  • OWRA; 
  • Environmental Protection Act; 
  • Clean Water Act; 
  • workplace safety; 
  • confined space, 
  • electricity;
  • basic and applied science, 


Students will also learn equipment basics for the following:  

  • piping;
  • valves;
  • pumps;
  • basic and applied math;
  • wastewater collection systems;
  • lift/pumping stations;
  • types of sewers;
  • cleanouts;
  • trunk sewers; 
  • inflow CCTV Inspection; and 
  • cleaning methods.
